Mother's Day interview with Jasmine

Jasmine is the beauty behind the lens of @Jasminelumsutherland.creative the photographer and stylist of some many of Ochre’s stunning campaign shoots. Also a dear friend. Recently Jas had a gorgeous little boy Oscar Blue, so I thought I would ask her a few question about here newly found roll in Motherhood.

If you were to put it into a sentence (and I am sure that’s probably impossible) how has motherhood changed you?

I knew that motherhood would bring about a love like no other, but sometimes I feel so much love, I feel like going to burst! I didn’t expect it to feel this big, and profound, and like it doesn’t fit within the walls of my body! It’s amazing! (Sorry, that was more than one sentence!)

What was the last thing Oskie did that just took your breath away? I often hear mothers stories of the little moments

Each night Oskie and I lay in bed together and read. Normally Oskie sucks his thumb and looks at the pages as I turn them. But lately he has been looking over at me, and gently putting his hands on my face and lips as I read, like he’s soaking it all up. I know that this isn’t necessarily breathtaking, but in those moments of his tiny hands gently resting on my face and his gaze into my eyes~ it feels like it’s just us, and it’s so special.

You have a beautiful connection with your Mother. Is there something that comes to mind, that you are mindfully are trying to follow in her footsteps with.

You are right~ I have the most beautiful connection with my Mama. There are so many ways in which my mother nurtured me, and my sisters, that I would like to offer to Oskie as his mother. One thing she really embraced was our own individual & unique personalities. She always held space for us to dream, express and explore who we are, and how we want to show up in the world. Having that freedom held within the safety and support of her love was the perfect environment to truly blossom as children, and as adults. I would like to hold that space for Oskie as he forges his own path into the world.

In these beautiful photos, Jas has Ochre’s Gumnut Mug in the NEW Larger size.
