Inside the Tea Set Workshop: A Slow Three Hours of Clay, Coffee, Pastries and Teapots
Spend three slow hours hand-building your own teapot at Ochre's Tea Set Workshop in Mullumbimby, fifteen minutes from Byron Bay. Beginners welcome. Cooler months only.
A lovely feature in Hunter & Folk
The long table, coloured with flowers, little ceramic dishes filled with pearls, handmade beads, colourful glass, gold-filled and sterling silver findings. Wine poured, a cheese platter circulating, jazz filling the room. Two hours to design and assemble your own earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, with me moving through the space offering guidance when you need it. From findings to wire, stringing to attaching, every piece leaves finished, considered and wearable.
An Honest Conversation About Small Business
“If I take a step back and look at Ochre five years on, I’m really proud of the work and my growth through pottery in particular. I’m proud of the space I’ve created and run workshops in. It’s never lost on me when the studio is full for a Saturday evening Clay Wine and Cheese workshop, wine is flowing, music is playing and everyone is busy making their pieces, it brings me so much joy.”
