Private Group Pottery or Jewellery Workshops

Ochre offers both Pottery and Jewellery Private Group Workshops.

Gather your favourite people and make something beautiful together. My private workshops are made for birthdays, hens, Christmas parties, work events, or simply an excuse for an extra special catch up. You’ll learn to hand make your very own pieces in pottery or jewellery, with me guiding you the whole way. No experience needed, just bring your people.

Price starting at $115 per person. Minimum 8 guests, maximum 14 in Ochre’s studio, no maximum when I come to you.

  • Pottery


    I’ll teach you the hand building basics: pinch pots, coiling, attaching handles and legs, and how to make sure nothing blows up in the kiln. You’ll make up to three pieces, anything from a mug to a vase, a bowl to a platter. You can make up to 4 pieces. They will then be glazed and fired by me, and they’re ready for pickup or postage about 4 weeks later.

    Jewellery


    I’ll show you how to make findings, string, wire and attach, and I’ll be right there helping with design and assembly. You’ll have a beautiful collection of gemstones, freshwater pearls, handmade ceramic beads, colourful glass beads and quality gold filled and sterling silver findings to choose from. You’ll make 2 to 3 pieces and wear them home on the night.

    Join me in my light filled studio, 15 minutes from Byron Bay. Everything will be set up and waiting for you.

    Or I come to you
    Your home, a venue, your office. I bring everything needed for a beautiful two hour workshop, trestle tables included. I travel across the Northern Rivers, Gold Coast / Brisbane / further, by arrangement.

    • $115 per person: Two hour workshop:

    • $135 per person: Two hour workshop with wine + cheese.

    Both include all materials, tools and my guidance throughout, plus up to 4 pottery pieces glazed and fired, or 2 to 3 pieces of jewellery to take home.

    If I’m coming to you, a travel or venue fee may be added and I’ll include it in your quote.

  • Minimum 8 guests.

    Ochre’s studio can have a maximum 14 comfortably.

    If you have a bigger space there is no maximum when I come to you, and extra teachers will be organised to assist on the day.

  • Pottery

    I can tailor to all skill types, and will make sure you are able to grow your ‘new’ or ‘practiced’ hand building pottery skills. You will be taught hand building basics… How to make a pinch pot, how to coil with clay, attach handles, legs etc. and how to make sure your pieces won’t blow up in the kiln! I promise you’ll leave having created three beautiful pieces, anything from a mug to a vase, a bowl to a platter! It is up to you to let your imagination take over.

    Jewellery

    You will be taught jewellery basics… How to make findings, string, wire + attach. And don’t worry, I will be helping with design and assembling each of your pieces. You will have access to a beautiful collection of pearls, handmade ceramic beads, colourful glass beads + high quality gold filled and sterling silver silver jewellery findings. Everything you need to create anything from earrings, bracelets, necklaces… ect.
